[edit] US state related ships category

Can you lend a hand helping save this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2006_December_27#Category:US_State_Related_Ships Thanks --71Demon 22:28, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Because you have been working on a lot of Navy Articles and know how the naming of ship carries significance. --71Demon 19:12, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Can you get some more support for the category among other Navy editors? --71Demon 00:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
The category made it through its battle. I have been taking the ship classes and going through them one by one, checking what the ship was named for and then categorizing it. I was wondering if you could lend a hand? Also, how should we categorize ships like the USS Churchill? --71Demon 16:38, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category US State Related Ships (again)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_January_4#State_ship-related_categories as soon as the cfd was removed, some one started abusing there power and put it back up. Please put your vote to keep thread up again. Once a cfd is removed, they should have to wait 6 months to put it back. This is nothing more than abuse because somebody didn't get their way. --71Demon 20:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

It is just flat out abuse. Each one of those was labled in the discussion page. I don't by the guys claim he didn't know. You might want to check out my post on this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Fabartus/Wet_noodle_award#Doing_what_is_right_vs_taking_the_easy_way and thanks again. --71Demon 15:01, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Ships with Model Kits

I know, I know I have them all upset with me now, but that would be a useful category for people that build models. I got the idea when I was adding a bit of triva to USS Pirate (AM-275). I'm also going to be seriously explaning this article. USS Pivot (AM-276) my grandfather served aboard her, and I have lots of photos from the ships photographer. I also have the complete deck logs copied from the national archives, as well as photos from the ship yard, and those taken from a PBY out of Pensacola NAS. I need to add some additional triva, as the Pivot appeared in Life magazine. The same picture as the top one, but the radar gear was airbrused out by censors. --71Demon 01:56, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Moving a Photo

I screwed up wrong hull number. It is the USS York County, it has no move button. Have you run across this before? --71Demon 17:17, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't want to delete the image, because it can be used for the USS York County entry, it is just labled incorrectly. --71Demon 14:42, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Down Syndrome

My edit to the Down Syndrome article was a careless mistake. I had noticed apparent vandalism to the President Bush redirect page and was attempting to revert that, when I fixed the wrong page (probably fell prey to the vandal's redirect). I'm really sorry about that. --Davidkazuhiro 08:31, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lewis Libby

Hi, thanks for your interest in maintaining the article about George Bush, but i had been alertied to my mistake and eliminated the reference to Libby's position as assistant to the president already. So, i'm not really sure why you deleted my entire paragraph especially since your reason for doing so had already been taken care of. If you could i would appreciate an explanation for what i did wrong. I'm sort of new so i don't know the correct protocol for everything. thanks darksmiles22 02:36, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] George W. Bush mistake

Sincere apologies for the non-neutral edit to George W. Bush. I appreciate your comment and will leave it on my talk page for a while.

Your projects are impressive. I witnessed the commissioning of USS Preble (DDG 88) where the USS Constitution was docked in Boston at the World Trade Center facing bow to bow with USS Preble on 2002-11-09 [1]. At the appropriate time, several thousand people sat in silence as the spirit of Captain Preble was welcomed aboard from his original ship with the ringing of small chimes. As the crowd sat in awe, the tiny voice of a young boy suddenly exclaimed "Was that a real ghost?" to his guardians. Those of us within hearing distance broke into a little laughter, a touching moment during a tense time. Please take that story to heart and forgive my only wrongheaded move ever in Wikispace. [edit] Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

I noticed you gave a 3RR warning to HighinTouch. I presume then you are well aware of this policy. It is rather unfortunate then that you violated it in the same dispute in which you (appropriately) gave a warning. Please remember that the fact another editor may have violated the 3RR is no excuse for you yourself to violate it. There are only a few circumstances, namely BLP concerns, simple vandalism, copyright concerns & libel where you may make more then 3 reverts in 24 hours under the 3RR. In this case, while it appears to me that while the removal of HighinTouch's addition was proper, there was no justification for violating the rule yourself. It would have been far better to let other editors remove the material. As such, I should remind you:

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.

Cheers. Nil Einne 07:55, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

As I've stated, it's true his changed were inappropriate IMHO. However, the 3RR is clear. Unless there it meets a any of the specific circumstances listed, there is no justification for violate the 3RR. In this case, there was no justification for violating the 3RR in my opinion as it didn't fit any of the circumstances. It was not IMHO vandalism and definitely not simple vandalism. You might want to read Wikipedia:Vandalism which provides guidance on what vandalism is. Generally, content disputes and genuine attempts to improve wikipedia are not vandalism, no matter how misguided the attempts are, and even if the other party doesn't understand wikipedian policies on OR or NPOV. As I've stated above, I think most editors will agree that HighinTouch's additions were unsuitable. Therefore, as in most cases, the best thing to do was to allow other editors to remove the additions and/or seek outside assitance instead of violating the 3RR. You might want to read the policy again, as it highlights how to deal with situations when you genuienly feel the reversion is necessary but don't wish to violate the 3RR Nil Einne 08:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, yes replace the section with the National commision as the source. Though it may be wise to start the first paragraph with "According to the 911 commission". Good work.Hypnosadist 11:17, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

In regards to the edits you have made here, please only give one warning, to avoid confusion. If the person in question has vandalized on more than one article, give more severe warnings, instead of numerous warnings. Thank You. --KZ Talk Vandal Contrib 08:16, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
