This article obviously has the potential for expansion to provide a comparison of the areas with it's real-life counterparts, similair to Liberty City. I don't have, however, an extensive knowledege on Miami, so some assistance is most appreciated. Enclosed is a map of Vice City, which can be accessed here. ╫ 25 ring-a-ding 15:32, 25 August 2005 (UTC) ╫

[edit] Redirects

I took the liberty to create a number of redirects to this article, including "Leaf Links", "Starfish Island", "Prawn Island", "Vice Point", and various forms of "Escobar Airport". I hope these don't cause any problems. -albrozdude 23:06, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notes

Should the Vice City Stories rendition heading be restored to the article. At the moment it looks confusing as it continues on straight from the original game's rendition.

Should someone say in the notes part that the licence plates in Vice City were Florida plates? 67.164.177.202 17:42, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Which version of GTA: Vice City does this refer to? (PS2/PC, Xbox? Becuase the textures used on the number plates vary between the PS2/PC and Xbox versions) If not, are you referring to plates in GTA: Vice City Stories? ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 18:08, 8 August 2006 (UTC) ╫
I am talking about in the PS2 version, where if you moved the camera all the way up, it was clearly a Florida plate. This is easiest with a motorcycle.67.164.177.202 19:23, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Just checked here; it does appear similar (although this would mean that the Vice City plates are actually based on Floridan plates released between 1987 to 1998 - blue/green characters behind a white background and an orange Florida state silhouette), although this info is a tad bit minor, given that there are more obvious references of the state. I suppose this could be mentioned anyway in a single sentence. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 15:41, 1 October 2006 (UTC) ╫
Oh I know that it is indeed minor, but it is still a reference to Florida.``BGOATDoughnut 18:33, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Move Over Miami" billboard

24.230.73.174 has recently modified passages regarding evidence of Miami and Vice City co-existing in GTA:VC, citing a "Move Over Miami" billboard located in Little Haiti. I have yet to find the billboard in question within the district or other parts of the city (although a rather hilarious billboard regarding Dundee was spotted at the Escobar International). Lacking evidence to prove the existence of the billboard, I'm prepared to revert this edit, unless someone could point out where the billboard can be found. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 20:05, 31 August 2006 (UTC) ╫

I have not seen this billboard in-game, and a quick google search shows that this article is the only place in which it is mentioned. Seeing as how "researched" the GTA games are, if it were indeed true, I would expect to find it on a fansite (or something like that) of some sorts.``BGOATDoughnut 18:39, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Removed it. The game itself has been thoroughly searched (including data files), but there are no such billboards found. I'm beginning to believe this is a hoax. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 19:32, 1 October 2006 (UTC) ╫
Just because there is a Billbord saying "Move over Miami" Does not mean that it Co-Exsists with Vice City. Sean mc Sean 03:55, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
As stated above, there is no such billboard. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 09:39, 1 February 2007 (UTC) ╫
  • acually if you go to little Hati there is a bilbord saying "Move over Miami" which is located Right across from the little cafe under the tree. Its with a bunch of other bilbords on this building. But it does not mean that Miami Co-exsists with Vice City. Its obviosly a Miami easter egg.
Gathering from both this conversation and from info on my personal experience, it's quite possible that this billboard does not, in fact, exist. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 03:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
  • It does exsist asshole. - Sean mc Sean 05:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Provide evidence. Produce a screenshot that proves that this billboard is in Little Haiti or Vice City. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 10:35, 3 February 2007 (UTC) ╫
      • Evidence, you assholes. It's at -896.152160644531 226.149658203125 15.0296449661255 .

By the way, where did Ray go in GTA III? Vice city? Nope, Miami. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.28.24.222 (talk) 03:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Starfish Island

The phrase "Arsehole" is used. Is this a direct quote or is this just the editors unwillingness to say the word "asshole?"``BGOATDoughnut 22:09, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm guessing the latter. Dictionary.com [1][2] and Urban Dictionary [3][4] do not indicate that the term is related to rich people. Top it of with the lack of references and the term's accuracy of use is pretty fuzzy. Removed for being too speculative. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 09:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC) ╫

"Arse", and by extension, "arsehole", in British English and some Commonwealth English dialects is equivalent to American English "ass" and "asshole". 63.152.13.57 04:00, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

But even that wouldn't relate to rich people. ``BGOATDoughnut 05:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] vice city's website

Did u know that vice city's website is www.vice-city.com . visit http://www.infoideas.net/Vice-City-2/Vice-City-definitive-Players-Guide.htm . its also good link for beginners --Anishgirdhar 08:42, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

It's a fansite. Is the site's relevant to this article's topic? Even so, is it useful in discussing improvements in any related article? ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 13:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC) ╫
No offense, but this is blatant spamming. This site isn't necesssary. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 02:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Map

Is this actually of the Vice City game? It looks like a different game altogether, the main giveway being that Vice City has no railway lines. I'm afraid I don't have an image to replace it but this should be removed. I seem to recall the game has a build in map however.

++ I second removal of the pic, its a map of Liberty City not Vice City. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.151.231.78 (talk) 20:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disappearance of the Map

HEY! Where's the map gone? --172.189.245.201 (talk) 15:39, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

It got deleted apparently for having no source information. mattbuck (talk) 16:25, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
