Vergo Retail Ltd is a department store business in Liverpool. It was set up in 2007.The reason why it was set up was because Owen Owen had fallen into administration and the owner wanted to buy back the 3 remaining stores back off the administrators, but he did not have a registered business to buy them back with. So he registered Vergo, and the registered office is on Reneshaw Street, Liverpool. Vergo owns and runs 3 department stores including Lewis's of Liverpool, Robb's of Hexham and Jopling's of Sunderland. Each of these department stores were formerly owned by Owen Owen Ltd. There largest store is Lewis's, followed by Jopling's and then Robb's. Then group is owned by David Thompson.
