University of Madrid

The University of Madrid (Spanish: Universidad de Madrid) can refer to several academic institutions in Madrid, Spain:
- The Complutense University of Madrid (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, UCM), a public university founded in 1293, initially called the Universitas Complutensis, later the Universidad de Madrid, later the Universidad Central, and re-named the Universidad Complutense de Madrid after the fall of the Franco regime; traditionally the institution to which the "University of Madrid" refers.
- The Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM), a public university founded in 1971, composed of the former technical schools of the University of Madrid.
- The Autonomous University of Madrid (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, UAM), a public university founded in 1968.
- The Pontifical Comillas University of Madrid (Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid), a private university, originally based outside Madrid.
