While the swing state of Florida, USA, received much press with regard to the outcome of the 2000 U.S. presidential election, several other states had similarly close outcomes and could have changed the outcome of the election. The following is a list of the states with the lowest margins of victory (less than 5%) in 2000, sorted by the margin percentages and color-coded for George W. Bush or Al Gore:
