- Correct, every place is some kind of municipality. However, there are communities with place names that have not separated from the township that surrounds them. Usually they are defined by a post office zip code or have developed around a train station stop. They may be recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau as a Census-designated place. That is what this category is for. For example, Somerset, New Jersey is located within Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 05:19, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
