Sydne Vogel

Sydne Vogel (born June 20, 1979 in Anchorage, Alaska) is a former American figure skater. Vogel was an early rival of Tara Lipinski and beat her out to become US Junior National Champion in 1995. Vogel won the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in 1997. After dealing with a back injury, she briefly trained at the University of Delaware FSC before going abroad. Vogel switched countries to compete for Germany. She placed 15th at the 2003 German Nationals.
She was the 1996 Skate America Bronze medalist. The 1995 Blue Swords Champion in Germany. She was one of the few figure skaters to win the Pacific Coast Secitonal Championships in Novice, Junior and Senior levels. She is now studying in New York to become an Orthopedic Surgeon.
