[edit] Watch out for double-redirects
You created a page, Lieutenant governor of rhode island, which was a redirect to Lieutenant governors of rhode island, which was a redirect to Lieutenant Governors of Rhode Island. Double-redirects don't work. You need to make sure each one points to the actual article. I fixed this one. Something to watch out for when you create redirects. [edit] License tagging for Image:Dorothy Clarke Wilson.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dorothy Clarke Wilson.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:07, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I deleted the category before I read the entire article. I think he would be considered an alleged Presidential child, at least for now. It is very interesting though and even more interesting if true. It deserves investigation. Tyler was quite the baby maker! Jjmillerhistorian 23:32, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Central Congregational Church
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Central Congregational Church, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Repost of Astrid Menks
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Astrid Menks, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Astrid Menks was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Astrid Menks, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Astrid Menks itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:44, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Suffolk Symbol Seal.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Suffolk Symbol Seal.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:46, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Haymarket_Square.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Haymarket_Square.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

A tag has been placed on Newport Historical Society and Museum of Newport, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Basketballoneten 00:56, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] little ivies
I noticed you reverted the changes made on the little ivies entry. Unfortunately, you didn't give any rationale for why you did this. I assume you realize that "little ivies" have no actual connection to the ivy league, despite what a college guide book may claim. That's why all references to the ivy league were removed.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Union village milestone.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Union village milestone.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 22:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House
What a happy coincidence that you created the article the day before I got back from a recent trip to Rhode Island, right before I was going to upload the pictures I took in Newport in February. Funny how things work out here ...
I have expanded the article, brought it up to WP:NRHP standards a little bit, and now I'm going to list it for DYK (you'll get credit for creating it). Daniel Case (talk) 10:10, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Would you mind if I removed your recent addition of Rhode Island HS from the Rhode Island section of List of Historical Societies? [edit] National Register of Historic Places articles
I noticed you've been doing a number of articles about properties on the National Register of Historic Places, and I'm impressed that you've created so many articles. You've obviously been doing a lot of work.
I thought I'd mention that I have a copy of the National Register database loaded on my Web server, and I have some query tools that might be useful. From this site, you can find an infobox generator that generates the {{Infobox nrhp}} code for any given property, including the degree/minute/second coordinates for most properties (where they're published, anyway). I also have listing tools for cities and counties. You're welcome to use them if you're interested. Also, you're welcome to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. Again, good work on the articles! --Elkman (Elkspeak) 04:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Richmond Paper Company Mill Complex
Hi,
I noticed in this article that you created, some of the content was "doubled up". I assume this was an error, so I have removed one of each infobox. However, if this was incorrect, please feel free to revert me. You can see what I did here.
If you're using a template, it might be worth making sure that it's working properly and not creating a whole bunch of articles with doubled up templates. Lankiveil (speak to me) 05:25, 11 May 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Hi
Hi, I noticed you joined WP:NRHP. I know that you have created many nice articles and know your way around already. Glad to see you finally joined! :)
That's a nice pic you just added to your John N. A. Griswold House article. I just added more material to the article; as you see i kinda specialize in adding sources. Perhaps you'll find the NHL nomination PDF document, now linked, helpful in further developing the article. I eventually get around to adding that stuff to articles about NHLs, for which such PDF documents are usually on-line. Let me know if you ever want quicker service... :) Anyhow, keep up the good work! doncram (talk) 01:59, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Uploading images
You have uploaded some really good photographs. I wanted to suggest that you consider uploading them to http://commons.wikimedia.org so that they can be used in all Wikipedias, including the English-language one. Once you've done so, you could add the pictures to the appropriate articles in each of the other languages without having to upload the image to each Wikipedia. --Eastmain (talk) 02:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SULS
I see you are a libertarian SULS alumnus. Did you ever have Professor Rounds? DickClarkMises (talk) 21:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Good to hear about the class with Prof. Rounds--I have Trusts with him in the fall. I was never able to find enough people to sign on as members of the libertarian group, but I managed to avoid that problem by becoming the president of the Federalist Society chapter. Since FedSoc bills itself as "Conservative/Libertarian" I guess we'll just focus on the latter at Suffolk. Mostly I just wanted the ability to reserve rooms in which to hold speaker events, so this will work just fine. DickClarkMises (talk) 22:13, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nice image!
I love your image of the plaque marking Edgar Allan Poe's birthplace in Boston... it is much better than my version. I was wondering, however, why it wasn't uploaded to Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org)? Media uploaded there can be utilized on all Wiki-projects, including other languages. Oh, and, if you feel like it, it might be worth cropping just a little bit off the left of the image to help center the plaque (but, hey, that's just my opinion). Keep up the good work here! --Midnightdreary (talk) 23:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NHLs in Maine
Hi, I noticed you created articles for all the remaining sites on List of NHLs in ME, which i was marching through slowly. I don't know if you zipped through this list, or whether you were working off another one of NRHPs, but i see there are stubs for all now.
What you did, seemingly based on the Elkman generator output for each one, plus perhaps some other quick research, is helpful and will accelerate my involvement with the Maine list. I wonder if you would care to help take them all a bit further, too? Each of the new ones could also be improved by:
- identify NRHP_type being "nhl" in the infobox
- use the corresponding NHL summary webpage to add a designated = date for each NHL date to the infobox (not provided by Elkman output, needed for NHLs)
- footnote that NHL mention with a proper footnote to the NHL summary
- edit text to mention NHL designation instead of, or in addition to, the NRHP mention, using another invocation of the NHL summary footnote.
- drop "Category:Registered Historic Places in Maine" and replace by "Category:National Historic Landmarks in Maine". Note, the NHL category is a "child" category to the RHP one, as all NHLs are RHPs.
For example, you can see what i just added to the Winslow Homer Studio article. By the way, I further added the NRHP text/photo document for that site, which is just a bit further involved. I could continue adding that for other sites, or if you are interested i would be glad to explain more about that. Cheers, doncram (talk) 15:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Let me re-emphasize, what you're doing is a help. I don't mean to criticize, i just wanted to inform you more about how NHL articles can differ from other NRHP articles. Oh, also, i meant also to convey that the NRHP_type for infoboxes about NHLs that are historic districts, should be nhld, not nhl, so if you encounter an infobox for an NHL with Nrhp_type = hd it should be changed to Nrhp_type = nhld. doncram (talk) 19:05, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- I found a way to automatically put the "nrhp_type=nhl" or "nrhp_type=nhld" fields in the infobox generator output if the property is a National Historic Landmark. There's a table in the database that indicates whether a structure is part of a National Historic Landmark survey, so I'm doing a query against that. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Brighton Center Historic District
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Brighton Center Historic District, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=57495. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:32, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Question on Clark Cook House
You recently created the article Clark Cook House — indicating that it was in Newport, Rhode Island and is on the NRHP. However, when I search NRIS on Newport, RI, it does not appear. Can you direct me to the information via the NRIS link in the article? Thanks. — ERcheck (talk) 16:18, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- It looks like it's been removed from the National Register. I did a query by city and didn't find it, but when I queried by the reference number I found it. I had to recheck my copy of the database, where I found that it had the status "RN", meaning "removed from the National Register". The next question is, "why was it removed"? --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston Maine.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston Maine.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Possible forking
Hi. This message is in reference to some of the articles on places on the List of Registered Historic Places in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. I realize what the goal is - to create articles on all of them. However, I wonder if we could do with fewer articles, given how much overlap there is in some of the entries. We have Revere Beach Reservation and Revere Beach Reservation Historic District, but also Revere Beach - would we suffer if we redirected the first two to the third, and added the requisite NRHP information there? Likewise with Anderson, Larz, Park Historic District and Larz Anderson Park and Mission Hill Triangle Historic District and Mission Hill, Boston, Massachusetts. In searching for a remedy, let's keep in mind that Back Bay Historic District redirects to Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts, and Beacon Hill Historic District to Beacon Hill, Boston, Massachusetts. Biruitorul Talk 21:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, no problem - I can see how that might happen; it's such a big project there are bound to be some glitches here and there. Thank you. Biruitorul Talk 23:29, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
