[edit] Speedy deletion of 2030 FIFA World Cup simulation

A tag has been placed on 2030 FIFA World Cup simulation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] 2006 FIFA World Cup

The recent edit you made, seen here, was identical to other edits which sparked an edit war. Before you attempt to make this edit again, please discuss the changes on Talk:2006 FIFA World Cup, where other editors embroiled in this dispute were directed to go to. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 21:23, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2006 FIFA World Cup

I have reverted the article back to the previous version, and it needs to stay as it is until some agreement is reached about adding the content. Not because I disagree with your edits, but because you appear to be involved in an edit war with another user about the content you are adding. If you wish to add the information, which is making wholesale changes to the article, please discuss any changes on the articles talk page before doing so. Thank you and have fun.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

You and others might agree. I have no opinion one way or the other. However, there does not appear to have been any consensus reached for the wholsale changes you are making and at least one other editor has expressed concerns at your edits. You have also been involved in an Edit war over this. Therefore the practice in instances like this, is to keep the previous version as it was, whilst discussing in the articles talk page the changes, and then if agreement is reached to change it again. You have now violated the 3RR. I will be reverting your latest revert to restore the article to as it was before. Please do not revert it again. Please discuss the changes in the talk page. And unfortunately I also have to leave message belwo this one.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:37, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2006 FIFA World Cup. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:37, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Calling me a Son of a bitch isn't going to help your case one iota. Please refrain from insults. Also, I have just read through the talk page of the article as you stated that "we already agreed to change it". Yet despite this, I can find no agreement or consensus on the talk page where any agreement was made. There is one discussion between gethomas3 who was adding the same content you did, and who was also blocked for a short period for breaking the 3RR on that article in the same way you did, but unless I am missing something (and that wouldn't be surprising) there is nothing else. By all means discuss the changes on the talk page but please stop the pointless insults, especially when my involvement was only to try and encourage discussion and to prevent an edit war.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:42, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a short time in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule . Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

--John (talk) 00:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "There was a lot more to the 2006 World Cup then just some English boy's (PeeJay)favorite teams, England, Italy, France, and Germany. There have already been discussions to have a much more detail page of the World Cup and all he does is ignore it. And if you ever look at my contributions, you would know that I have helped a lot to modernize the pages."

Decline reason: "This block has already expired. — Sandstein (talk) 00:19, 24 March 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:WorldCup2006poster.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:WorldCup2006poster.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:29, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WorldCup1974poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:WorldCup1974poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 08:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Mexico1999.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Mexico1999.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 01:49, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Uruguay1980stamp.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Uruguay1980stamp.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: your comment on my talk page

Man, I don't know jack about programming =D To be honest, I just looked for the two excess braces and deleted them. In many ways it was just trial and error. – PeeJay 20:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] International Football Competition Infobox

I don't understand why you undid my revision on {{Infobox International Football Competition}}. You changed the parameter |winners= to |champions=, and since the winning teams on existing articles using the infobox are listed under |winners= parameter, the Champion box shows up empty. See 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup, for example. In order to avoid this all existing articles using the infobox should have the parameter |winners= changed to |champions=. It would be easier to just change the parameter back to |winners= in the infobox in order to avoid the hard work.  ARTYOM  21:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I will take care of that ina quickness.

Hey, nothing will change by that. "Champions" will still be displayed in the articles, just the parameter in the template in the article's source will be |winners=. If you undid my revision because it broke the 2006 FIFA World Cup, that's because |champions= should've been changed to |winners= there.  ARTYOM  21:51, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it broke everything from the World Cup to EuroCup when u did that.

I see, it probably happened because you already changed those. And now since I added automatic wrapping into the {{fb}} template, it broke those too... However, automatic wrapping is better than manually adding {{fb|Country}} to the parameter, so the broken articles should be fixed. By the way, what is the point of changing the template parameters? I see you are doing it on a lot of templates. You're not doing it so that you earn more edits by "correcting" all articles that use the template, are you?  ARTYOM  21:58, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

LOL Now I know what to fix. Can you do me a favor? Cna you convert the "Champions", 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place spots so I can convert the flags using ?

Thanks! : )

Hmm... Sorry, I didn't quite understand what favor you are asking me to do for you. If you could perhaps explain it better I might be able to help you :)  ARTYOM  22:18, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Y Done You can use parameters |champion-flagvar=, |second-flagvar=, |third-flagvar=, |fourth-flagvar=. Note that the value of flagvars should be the year when the flag was accepted (e.g. not (1968-1992) for Italy, but just 1968), or any text that will display the correct flag (such as alt for Argentina instead of year).  ARTYOM  22:29, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 1930 World Cup

There was no third place playoff in the 1930 FIFA World Cup, so it is incorrect to list the USA and Yugoslavia as third and fourth in the infobox. Oldelpaso (talk) 22:52, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I know. That is what I thought. But FIFA says otherwise....

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/archive/edition=1/index.html

Better yet, let us just take that section out since there was no third place match played

Given your lack of input into the discussion I will take this as an agreement not to revert on the page. If you do, then I will have to block you for disruption. Woody (talk) 22:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] March 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to 1990 FIFA World Cup appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. – PeeJay 16:57, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Please discuss your changes to 1990 FIFA World Cup on the talk page, rather than just blindly reverting. Oldelpaso (talk) 20:26, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Stadio Renato Dall'Ara2.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Stadio Renato Dall'Ara2.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 22:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: FIFA Club World Cup Bracket

Hm... that could be done probably. But I don't see why you think it would look better. The bends, in my opinion, are more useful, because they show which team in the semifinals had to go through quarterfinals, and which team didn't. A straight line would be quite confusing there.  ARTYOM  02:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] COPA SUDAMERICANA 2008

the team of concacaf will be a guest.

[edit] CONCACAF Champions League 2008-09

The way I have organized the table in the article is a better representation of the teams in the tournament. The group stage and prelims are aligned the same way in both boxes in my version and they are ordered in a more logical way. If you are going to revert at least do me the favor of leaving a justification like I asked several other times. Given your history of unproductive editing shown clearly on this talk page, I will be more than justified in assuming vandalism if you do not leave a justification (i.e. the 3rr rule doesn't apply). -- Grant.Alpaugh 04:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Another user agrees with me, so stop reverting without justification or you will be blocked. -- Grant.Alpaugh 14:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Seriously, man. Do you have a problem or something? Please discuss or at least justify your reverts or they are vandalism. -- Grant.Alpaugh 00:42, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
