A supernumerary rainbow. The image has been enhanced by dramatically increasing the contrast from the original and by cropping to emphasise the strongest portion of the supernumerary arcs.
The supernumerary bows are the repeated green and purple bands just inside the primary bow.
The related picture, taken a few minutes later, shows the supernumerary arcs more clearly.
