The Sunzha (Russian: Су́нжа, Chechen: Соьлжа, Sölƶa) is a river in North Ossetia, Ingushetia and Chechnya, Russia the right tributary of Terek River.. It is 278 km long. Sunzha origins on the Northern slope of the Caucasus Major. It's turbidity is 3,800 g/m³, it brings 12,2 million tons alluvium per year. Sunzha's water is used for irrigation. The major inflows of Sunzha are Assa River and Argun River. Cities of Nazran, Karabulak, Grozny and Gudermes stay alongside the Sunzha. During the Chechen Wars involved the destructions of oil reservoirs, Sunzha was polluted with oil products. [1]
