Suggestive Inquiry into the Hermetic Mystery

A Suggestive Inquiry into the Hermetic Mystery (full title: A Suggestive Inquiry into the Hermetic Mystery With a Dissertation on the More Celebrated of the Alchemical Philosophers)[1] was a book written in 1850 by Mary Anne Atwood (originally under her maiden name Mary Anne South). It is a Hermetic work discussing the spiritual side of alchemy. Principe and Newman (2001) considered it to be one of three books which started the influence of the spiritual interpretation of alchemy in early modern Europe.[2]
