Sugar Hill Records is a folk music record label that was founded in 1978 by Barry Poss and was acquired by the Welk Music Group in 1998. Among the artists who have released albums with the label are Nickel Creek, Allison Moorer, Sam Bush and Dolly Parton. (One of Parton's albums for Sugar Hill, 2002's Halos & Horns, included a song entitled "Sugar Hill", which she wrote as a tribute of sorts to the label.)
In 2006, Tim O'Brien's album Fiddler's Green, released on Sugar Hill, won the Grammy for “Best Traditional Folk Album”. In 2007, Bryan Sutton won the Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance for his duet with Doc Watson on "Whiskey Before Breakfast", from Sutton's "Not Too Far From the Tree" album.
