[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Arab cuisine.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Arab cuisine.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Fair use image problems

I notice you have uploaded the image Image:Arab cuisine.JPG with the {{Non-free logo}} fair use image tag. However, this tag seems unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Arab cuisine.JPG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Arab cuisine.JPG can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{Non-free logo}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia.

In particular: Fair use images are not allowed in templates. Caerwine Caer’s whines 17:56, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] {{Arab-cuisine-stub}}

It is strongly preferred that new stub types first be proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. In particular, doing so can avoid the problems of coming up with a correct name for the category. Also stub types are generally expected to have at least 60 stubs before getting a category of their own. Stub templates that follow the pattern established by other existing stubs, but do not have 60 stubs are instead instead upmerged into a larger stub category until they reach the number expected of an independent stub type. I am sending the categories you created to SFD for cleanup. Caerwine Caer’s whines 18:22, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

The template itself is not a problem as it follows the naming guidelines for stub types, and the concerns about the category are currently being dealt with at Stubs for deletion, so it would be best to let the discussion there be completed. Changing a template to point to the correct category only takes one edit of the template, so once it has been decided which category would be more in keeping with the naming guidelines, that can be dealt with easily. It just would have been easier to do so before creation instead of after, and if the template had not followed the naming guidelines, there would have been a good deal more work. [edit] Right of Return

I don't understand why you retracted your objection to: "Although Israel accepts the right of the Palestinian Diaspora to return into a new Palestinian state, their return into Israel would be a great danger for the stability of the Jewish state; an influx of Palestinian refugees would lead to the destruction of the state of Israel. [58] Because a right of return would make Arabs the majority within Israel, this would essentially seal the fate of the Jewish state." You say "I believe the first part ("Although Israel accepts the right of the Palestinian Diaspora to return into a new Palestinian state") should be removed" and I think you were right. The concept called "The Right of Return" does not mean what it's being used for, and the result is not simple confusion, it actively misleads the reader. PRtalk 11:38, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I was a little tired, but looking back, i think it should indeed be rephrased. The main reason for this is that the article states "Although Israel accepts the right of the Palestinian Diaspora to return into a new Palestinian state, their return into Israel would be a great danger for the stability of the Jewish state". In my opinion, this is misleading, and you are right, since the paragraph starts talking about Palestine and then goes on to say about the return to Israel.
Do you have any suggestions on how the paragraph should be rephrased? Sufitul (talk) 21:33, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
The statement "Although Israel accepts the right of the Palestinian Diaspora to return into a new Palestinian state, Israel insists that their return into the current state of Israel would be a great danger for the stability of the Jewish state; an influx of Palestinian refugees would lead to the destruction of the state of Israel." wouldn't add anything to the article anyway. Some statement of the form "Israel rejects the return of the refugees", in this section, is probably what's needed.
And I have concerns about the statement "Since none of the 900,000 Jewish refugees who fled anti-Semitic violence in the Arab world were ever compensated or repatriated by their former countries of residence—to no objection on the part of Arab leaders—a precedent has been set whereby it is the responsibility of the nation which accepts the refugees to assimilate them.", it's factually misleading (even if a few Israelis do speak like this). We've no idea what Arab leaders would say, since Israelis have never raised the subject (that I'm aware of). PRtalk 20:41, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to direct anybody who is unaware to the advocacy groups of the Jewish refugees from Arab lands. They are trying to gain recognition of their own exodus, although they don't make the news nearly as the Palestinian refugee groups, perhaps because they prefer to get their message across through dialogue rather than terrorism. --GHcool (talk) 01:00, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
