[edit] Radio

Robinson first broadcast on BCR in the mid 1990s, he went on to present the last programme on BCR and has since become a familiar name on Belfast Citybeat presenting most of the stations programmes since 1996. Born in Carrickfergus, in recent years he launched his own local RSL (Restricted Service Licence) stations including Castle FM in Carrickfergus and Bangor FM in County Down. He also presented for Radio 1521, (where we also hosted the last ever programme) Goldbeat, Touch FM and Mid FM.

[edit] Young Star Search

In April 2007 he was announced as Citybeat's host for Northern Ireland's biggest ever talent search for young people. The talent search travelled around Northern Ireland during summer 2007 with Robinson hosting each of the 12 regional heats. He created the Young Star Search concept in 2002 for Castle FM in Carrickfergus, the format soon spread to Bangor and Newtownabbey before Citybeat backed the Northern Ireland wide version. On July 7th 2007, Laura May Lenahan from Sligo and Rachael Stewart from Newtownards were crowned senior and junior winners at Castle Court in Belfast. The Citybeat Young Star Search was judged by Shaun Rogerson from The X Factor, Gerard McCarthy from Hollyoaks and Eurovision winner Dana. Young Star Search is expected to return for a new series in 2008.
