[edit] Copyright problem

"All excerpts are Copyright © 2005 by Paramount Pictures. All Rights Reserved." cannot be a good sign for this article. Can somebody clarify? Awolf002 00:12, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

This is just to say that I do not own the excerpts posted. They are owned by Paramout Pictures, hence the copyright. If I don't need it there, tell me. I just wanted to be on the safe side. Also, if there is anything else wrong with this article, please tell me so I can fix it, or fix it yourself. The Doctor EDIT: I've removed it. Upon further reflection, I've decided that I don't really need it. As a matter of fact, I'm only half sure that Paramount Pictures owns them anyway.....

The point is are those longish excerpts justified as fair use. Personally, I am not sure that there, and therefore they may comprise copyright violations. -- Beardo 07:12, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question:

How do I move the table of contents to just after the section marked 'String Theory'?

You don't, but that's still a very good question. :) The table of contents is always placed right before the first section heading in the article. What you probably want to do here is to add a short introduction to the article (almost an abstract) before that first section starts. The introduction should include the very most essential information about the subject, with the details filled in later in the article. (Incidentally, I'm guessing it's just a typo that the first two book image file names begin with "Sting_Theory_..." rather than "String_Theory_...". :) )--Steuard 23:55, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Yes, it's a typo ;)

[edit] Edits Complete

For now, at least. Sorry for the somewhat long stream of edits, but each time I saved the article, I saw something else that wasn't quite right - things I didn't see in the preview. The Doctor 23:49, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tone of article

I'm not really sure that the article has the right tone - especially the "Things to look for" heading. -- Beardo 13:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree - the long excerpts read more like adverts for novels than encyclopaedia entries. 131.111.213.33 (talk) 14:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sting Theory Book 2.jpg

Image:Sting Theory Book 2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
