Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is a 1992 comedy film starring Sylvester Stallone, Estelle Getty, and JoBeth Williams. Critically panned, it was awarded three Golden Raspberry awards, including Worst Actor.
[edit] Synopsis
A tough cop's (Stallone) seemingly frail mother (Getty) comes to stay with him and progressively interferes in his life. She buys him an illegal MAC-10 machine pistol and starts poking around in his police case. Eventually the film draws to a denouement involving the title of the film and a revelation that even though she seems frail and nosy she is capable of strong actions in some circumstances, i.e. when her offspring is threatened.

Reviews for the film were overwhelmingly negative. It has a 6% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Film critic Roger Ebert's review declared: "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is one of those movies so dimwitted, so utterly lacking in even the smallest morsel of redeeming value, that you stare at the screen in stunned disbelief." Gene Siskel said "If this doesn’t turn out to be one of the very worst movies of the year, it’s going to be a very bad year." Sylvester Stallone has stated that this was the worst film he has ever done.
On Fox Sports' The Best Damn Sports Show Period, Stallone was a guest when another guest, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Anthony McFarland told Stallone that he saw this film in the theater and that Stallone owed him $20. Stallone paid up.
