[edit] Star Fleet I: The War Begins!

Starfleet I has a plot and gameplay inspired by the Star Trek games that appeared on minicomputers and mainframes in the late 1970s. Starfleet allows the player to command a spaceship and undertake various missions to defend the Earth from the aliens Krellan and Zaldron.

The version of the game described at Home of the Underdogs is the first official release version by Interstel, after it was incorporated by Trevor Sorensen in 1986. It was at this time that Interstel became an affiliated label of Electronic Arts. The game itself, however, began selling in 1983 by Cygnus, back when it was still a "garage sale" operation.

[edit] Star Fleet II: Krellan Commander

This sequel to Star Fleet I was published in 1989 by Interstel Corporation, but was only in production for a few months due to internal problems at Interstel. The game was much more complex and sophisticated than SF I. It involved many different ships types, including battlecruisers, destroyers, heavy and light cruisers, frigates, troop transports, freighters, scouts, and starliners. Fleet operations were possible and the universe included hundreds of planets to utilize or conquer. It was only released for the IBM PC.

The game was designed and written by Trevor Sorensen, Mark Baldwin, and Dennis Lawler.

[edit] Star Legions

This game, published by Mindcraft, another affiliated label of Electronic Arts, was released in late 1992, and is based on the planetary invasion module of Star Fleet II.

You had 2 different kind of troops; shock-troops and regular troops. Your task was mainly to first put your shock-troopers down on the planet and destroy its shields. Then you could land your regular troopers and invade the planet.

You could also instead of invade the planet bombard it first, and then try to invade or bombard it.

It was notable for being an early Command & Conquer-like point and click game with speech.

Your troops also gained names and experience; after a successful fight, they got a legion name like "siler snakes" and improved by recovering faster if suffering losses, because of the remaining expeirenced old fighters.

Finally, you got different worlds to invade from primitive to very good developed planets who where more difficult to subdue.

The game was designed and written by Trevor Sorensen, Mark Baldwin, and Brett Keeton with artwork by Richard Launius.

[edit] Star Fleet Deluxe

This was attempt to create a new modern version of the Classic Star Fleet I: The War Begins! This was a grass-roots attempt online by game creator Dr. Trevor Sorensen. This would have been interactive online version of the game between players.

On his website, Star Fleet Central, he allowed free downloads of both Star Fleet I and II, with necessary patches.

However, development of the game stalled. This is due to the programmer who was helping with programing of the new Star Fleet Deluxe, he sadly took his own life. Shortly after this, the website closed down.
