Stade de Reims is a French football (soccer) team from Reims currently playing in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football. Stade Reims was the outstanding team of France in the 1950s and early 1960 and reached the final of the European Cup twice in that era.
Stade Reims plays in the Stade Auguste Delaune, which has a capacity of c. 25,000 and hosted a match of the FIFA World Cup 1938.
The players Raymond Kopa and Just Fontaine are the most notable players from their halcyon days when the team guided by coach Albert Batteux faced Real Madrid twice in finals of the European Champions' Cup. Michel Hidalgo, also a player in this side, became later a European Football Championship winning coach of the French national team.
