The start of tightlacing is problematic; because the ribs are slanted and hinged near the spine, the best direction of pressure is to go up and out (and the pressure of the corset go in and down).
Young corset users quickly feel a change; a young body can been changed quickly compared to an older one, for which the changes are small and happen slowly.
