[edit] School song

I have removed the school song from the article page. There are two problems, the first being that it was unsourced. More importantly, school songs are typically under copyright, and until the full history and copyright/licensing status of the sang can be determined, it needs to stay out of Wikipedia. -- Donald Albury 21:39, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Advertising

This article is sounding a little bit like a school prospectus and is straying rather from neutral point of view. --Vannin 20:04, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Apostrophe

Shouldn't it be St. Michael's? The article goes back and forth between having an apostrophe and omitting it.

Moxbib 18:56, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

The correct version is without the apostrophe (can be verified by looking at the school's website at www.smus.bc.ca). 24.81.130.9 05:10, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually, the name should be without an apostrophe throughout the whole article because of the school's funny grammar; should I change that? Update: I changed the name throughout the article.crazydrunkhobo

[edit] Famous alumni

Atom Egoyan is not a graduate of this school - he has never been mentioned in any alumni magazines and, given the fact that he would be about the second most famous alumnus ever, and given the school's penchant for marketing, if he even attended the school for a semester, they'd be putting him on the cover. I've tried removing him twice, but he's popped back in both times.70.52.184.240 17:51, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I think you are correct. As suggested by the following links, he definitely attended Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) but there is nothing to indicate he attended SMUS. In fact, the second link, a SMUS alumni magazine, mentions that Egoyan attended GNS. Surely a SMUS publication would have mentioned that Egoyan also attended SMUS in the same sentence if he did. I have removed Egoyan from the SMUS alumnus list.

[edit] Motto

The article states that the school has three different Latin mottoes. Which one is the real one? --Nucleusboy 21:20, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

The School formed through the amalgamation of St. Michaels School and University School, they both had their own mottos. They aren't widely used any more, but still appear from time to time. Vivat could be considered the motto of SMUS after the amalgamation. This isn't an official statement, though. 85.197.21.79 (talk) 16:30, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
