Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame is a station of the Paris RER, serving the Line B and Line C. It is named after the nearby St-Michel area and Notre Dame de Paris.
The main entrance to the station is at Place Saint-Michel on the left bank of the Seine. There is also a satellite entrance to the platforms of Line B at Place Notre Dame, which is at Île de la Cité across the Seine from Place Saint-Michel. The platforms of Line B are underneath the Seine.

On July 25, 1995, the station fell victim to a terrorist attack, with a gas bottle exploding nearby one of the platforms. 8 were killed and 200 wounded. See 1995 Islamist terror bombings in France.
