[edit] Mission highlights
This test Vostok spacecraft was the fifth and last in a series of spacecraft designed as precursors to manned space flight. It was launched by a Vostok 8K72K rocket and carried a dummy cosmonaut and a dog Jamal ("little star"), as well as the television system and other scientific apparatus. After one orbit, a successful recovery was made.
