Theshiz, you are right that the correct way to deal with the Sports section of Melbourne being too long is to bring the info here, but you still need to do it more carefully. There still needs to be a summary section in the main article, and the info should be integrated into the article here, rather than simply copied. In particular, your edit removed information about some events outside Melbourne, and changed the focus of the introduction from Victoria as a whole to Melbourne.
