Herbert "Spike" Lester is a fictional character on the NBC/DirecTV soap opera Passions. He has been played by Christopher Maleki since March 10, 2005.

Lester runs two sleazy after hours clubs in Harmony until the first is smashed up by Ethan Winthrop, Fox Crane, and Chad Harris; the second is burned down by Noah Bennett. Spike eventually sleeps with Jessica Bennett and turns her into a drug addict and prostitute. He eventually kills one of her johns and tricks Jessica into thinking she had committed the crime. Spike is also responsible for the murder Noah Bennett and Maya Chinn witnessed years ago and is revealed to be conspiring with Alistair Crane and Noah's blackmailer, Lena.
Lester marries Jessica Bennett and lives with her and the Bennett family, until he is arrested. After Alistair's death, he shoots and blackmails Christopher Boothe. He then tries to rob the Crane mansion, and shoots Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald after she tries to call the police.
He also tries to kill Thersea Crane by locking her in a sauna. He is discovered (by the viewers) to be the one who kills the maid Phyllis. Fancy Crane tries to catch the criminal, but ends up knocking herself unconscious. Lester tried to rape and torture her while she was knocked out. Fancy eventually escapes, and Lester leaves without getting caught.
In another episode, Fancy is raped on a stakeout trying to catch "the peeper"; It is strongly hinted that Spike is responsible. Several episodes later, however, it is revealed that he is innocent of Fancy's second rape, but did kill Jessica's johns.
Lester and the Peeper began working together, digging up the bones of the latter's victims in a ploy to frame Jessica. In an attempt to kill Miguel, he was caught by Tabitha and is now reduced to a slave to Mrs. Wallace and Norma Bates. Under the magical charm of Endora Lenox and Kay Bennett Spike confessed to his grizly misdeeds and was arrested by Paloma Lopez-Fitzgerald, but escaped. He was later recruited by his former employer Alistair Crane as a assassin his first target being Crane's eldest grandson Vincent Clarkson-Crane (who in fact turned out to be "the peeper"). However Sheridan Boothe, Alastair's daughter and Vincent's Aunt intervened and through circumstance ended up killing Vincent after Spike told her he knew the fate of her thought to be deceased son Marty Lopez-Fitzgerald. Spike escaped after Vincent died. He is one of Harmony's most wanted.
