The Songfestival or also called song07 was a planned two day music festival due to take place for the first time on the 28 July and 29 July 2007 at The Honley Showground, between Farnley Tyas and Thurstonland, near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England.

The first year of the event was to be known as Song07 and headlined by The Proclaimers, Badly Drawn Boy and The Levellers. This has been cancelled but the organisers aim to launch the event in 2008.

The organisers did not obtain a licence prior to announcing the event and during the process of applying for one from the council, they decided to cancel, stating local objections as one reason. Residents of the local area had criticised the organisers for failing to consult with them and opposed the festival for a number of reasons. Many people, including local councillors, believe that the site is an unsuitable venue, being situated in a village of 120 houses and bordering many other villages and hamlets. Villagers in this small farming community are worried about damage to crops, stone walls and the badger set, along with concerns about noise, traffic and general nuisance.[1]

The event was being organised by Huddersfield musician, Dave Stead, who was the drummer in the The Beautiful South, and promoter, Simon Foster.[2]

The organisers have said that they "are aiming to make it something like the Cambridge Folk Festival, more of a grassroots-level event than an indie rock festival" and that they "are looking at it as a long-term event, for the next 10 or 15 years" if it proves to be a success.[2]
