Hi, I've been adding to Wikipedia for a few months, and am by no means a master of its ins and outs. Recently, involved in discussion over Sarah Rutledge Birnbaum, and have found myself in support of a very tolerant policy for retaining articles. I agree with Jimmy "Jimbo" Wales that neutral point of view, verifiability, and no original research are sufficient criteria.

Best counterargument is that W will fill with self promotion and marketing. Well... that has happened forever; the victors write history. Oh, and then, the victors argue that alternate histories are `not important' or `not notable' or `mundane'. For some reason I always remember the Tudor suppression of the Plantagenets... even got one of the Plantagenets forever branded as a child murderer.

I must admit Wikipedia's policies and guidelines are unclear... particularly on the concept of notability. One throng in Wikipedia is strongly pushing deletion on criteria of notability, but they cite guidelines that actually are very fluid... evidence of notability means very different things to different people.
