[edit] Some Tips

When dealing with vandals access their talk page and place a template. However only sysops can block users.--Unknown 01:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gridlock (Doctor Who)

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Gridlock (Doctor Who) page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --VectorPotentialTalk 18:46, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I can't help but notice that as recently as 20 minutes ago you were editing constructively, by any chance has your account been hijacked? --VectorPotentialTalk 18:49, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
    • You could say that. My brother was using the PC and i guess he did all that.

[edit] Cho Seung-hui

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. One or more of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Cho Seung-hui, have been considered unhelpful or unconstructive and have been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. MrMacMan Talk 16:13, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Wheatland High School (California), you will be blocked from editing. If, as you say, your brother is doing this, please get into the habit of logging out of Wikipedia when you're done, and change your password if necessary. Your brother can get his own account. -Amatulic 17:06, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

      • reporting vandalism of the epiphone page.***

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. - TexasAndroid 19:55, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Note that the fact that this account does have some good edits, and the claims that a second person is the one doing the vandalism, are the reasons that this is a 24 hour block, not a permanent one. But, one person or two, enough is enough. The vandalism needs to stop. If it resumes after the block expires, more blocks will follow, and they will increase in size. If there are two people involved here, then you need to prevent your brother from editing with this account, one way or another. If this is not done, and the vandalism continues, then you will soon find yourself without an account that can edit. - TexasAndroid 20:00, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Vulo media.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Vulo media.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 12:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] However you are

If your brother is vandalising articles, give him a good twist around the ear. And if you are just a wiki-psycho, just stop it if you are intelligent enough to make good edits. Alientraveller 20:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism continues. Blocks continue, and increase. The vandalism *must* stop. Consider this you last warning. After this current block expires, if there is more vandalism, the next block will be indefinite, shutting down this account once and for all. - TexasAndroid 21:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Indefinitely blocked

Following Texas Android's comment above, this account has been indefinitely blocked for being a vandalism only account. There have been little to no useful contributions and many to more destructive ones. Enough is enough. Keegantalk 20:01, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

It's about time. Shoulda happened long ago. Thanks. -Amatulic 20:05, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Look at my contribs, there are hundreds, possibly thousands of useful contributions. GallifreyanPostman 20:09, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Expiratory time

I have given your account a month long block after consideration and discussion with other administrators. My initial indefinite was because I wasn't sure how long I was going to block you for.

When the block expires, you must be civil in editing, talk pages, and edit summaries. Further page blanking and vandalism will not be tolerated.

Remember: be constructive. Keegantalk 18:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] shared computers

Remember to uncheck the "Remember me" box whenever logging in, and make sure your browser doesn't keep your password. —Random832 14:35, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] April 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Half-Life 2: Episode One, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit] Speedy deletion of Image:World Trade Center Observation Deck New York City 1999 corrected.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:World Trade Center Observation Deck New York City 1999 corrected.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Polly (Parrot) 00:26, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] May 2008

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Turn Left (Doctor Who), without explaining the valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. The passage you removed - with a rather rude edit-summary - was sourced to an official magazine and had every reason to be placed in the article ╟─TreasuryTag (talk contribs)─╢ 20:04, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

k lol ^.^ Smurfy 20:05, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you find violating numerous Wikipedia policies amusing. I'd suggest that you change your attitude and avoid treating cautions as witty little anecdotes. ╟─TreasuryTag (talk contribs)─╢ 20:12, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

K I'M ON IT, SIR! Smurfy 20:13, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Your edit summaries are not acceptable, and neither are your comments here. I'm going to be watching your contributions, and if any aspect of them is remotely unconstructive, including summaries, content and replies, you will find yourself reported to administrators. And if you aren't able to reply here appropriately, then don't. Thanks. ╟─TreasuryTag (talk contribs)─╢ 20:15, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

By the way I removed that thang because noting that "something creeps towards Donna's back" at the same time as the other events sounds pretty stupid. Smurfy 20:17, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh and I take it you fell for my little "gullible" trick. Smurfy 20:17, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Postal 3 logo.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Postal 3 logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Asenine  18:40, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
