[edit] Welcome!
- Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
- Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
- You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
- You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
- If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
- Full details on Wikipedia style can be found in the Manual of Style.
This is a bit late, I'm afraid — but better a late welcome than none at all. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:41, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] "Nothing riles me more than poor spelling"
Perhaps you should read the papers! There are a few more disturbing things in the world to be upset about. Although I value your strive to improve wikipedia by correcting spelling errors, try to do so in a collaborative manner, and not offending other users. The JPS 22:51, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Fair point. I guess I could read the Grauniad! Smileyrepublic 22:54, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Malcolm Glazer
Glad you liked it :-) Are you a red as well? CTOAGN 13:45, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
No problem. Well, you could always give me an ordinary one! (That's not a request, BTW!) smoddy 20:25, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit warring on Urban75
Your edit warring on Urban75 goes far beyond what is acceptable on Wikipedia. If there is any sign of resumption I will block you. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 20:55, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I'll take it as read, then, that WP doesn't want my edits. Smileyrepublic 21:26, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
-
- That's not what I'm saying. WP doesn't want you edit warring. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 21:28, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Then why not warn the half-witted anon who's come from U75's bulletin boards to do little other than engage in revert wars on Urban75 and add linkspam to articles on Nick Wrack, Lindsey German and George Galloway and has a penchant for adding obscenities to my user page? Smileyrepublic 21:30, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
-
- I'm sure I shall do so if instances of this come to my attention. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 21:32, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I have to say, you seem a bit of a jobsworth. Is it hot where you are tonight, cause it's cooling down in the North West. Have a beer, get a fan ... Smileyrepublic 21:44, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Advice much appreciated. No, I'm not a jobsworth. I just warned you that edit warring was bad for Wikipedia. If you want to help Wikipedia please do feel free to report edit warring to WP:ANI or WP:AN3, where administrators will take any action that is due. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 00:19, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] UK COTW: Transport in the United Kingdom
Hey, just to let you know, an article you supported, Transport in the United Kingdom, is this week's collaboration. Cheers! -- Joolz 19:18, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Category:UK Wikipedians
Hi, just to let you know that the list of UK participants at the UK notice board was getting rather long, so I have replaced it with the above category which I have added to your user page. -- Francs2000 | Talk 30 June 2005 20:51 (UTC)
[edit] Hello?
Thought it seemed quiet on here. Where have you gone? I hope you're just taking a break and aren't too pissed off by the edit war stuff. It seems to happen to everyone on here sooner or later, but it'd be a shame to lose another contributor. Anything I can do to help, give me a shout. CTOAGN 8 July 2005 20:56 (UTC)
[edit] Please don't use that sort of language on my talk page again...
...I find the word "sc***ser" highly offensive :-D
Good to see you're back. How are things? CTOAGN 19:54, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] UK Radio stations
I noticed your comments at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Radio Stations about infoboxes and other things. I was wondering if you wanted to jointly co-ordinate some mass cleanup of British radio stations, and come up with an infobox and style more relevant to this side of the pond. --throup ✆ ✍ 20:19, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
I have read your comments at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Radio Stations and have written a reply. Hopefully the problems you mention will have been solved now (unless someone decides to remove the field-hiding code in the infobox again). --Marknew 07:21, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Straw poll
You took part in the discussion at Talk:City of Manchester recently, but no-one seems to have mentioned the straw poll at the bottom to you. Thought you might be interested. You were right about EarlyBird. CTOAGN 18:10, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:AfanFM.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:AfanFM.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:16, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:962therevolution new.gif
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:962therevolution new.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Thebayradio.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Thebayradio.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 10:35, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
