I don't know whether I can come up with any documentation, but the film was first screened in 1990, not 1991. However the 1991 version was slightly different, so perhaps that's why that date is used. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 05:44, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Ah! Found it in a 1991 review ([1]): "Since this review first ran in the summer of 1990, Slacker has been picked up for national distribution, blown up to 35mm and fine tuned in a few places." I'll add a cite when I have another minute. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 00:27, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately the DVD was not released worldwide. Up to now there was no release in Germany, one of the biggeste DVD markets in Europe.

Image:Slacker.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
