Skyler Stone

Skyler Stone (born Skyler Clipner, January 1, 1979^[1]^[2] in St. Louis, Missouri^[3]) is an American actor.

Skyler Stone is probably best known for his starring role in the series Con on Comedy Central.^[4]^[5]^[6] that ran for two months in the spring of 2005.

The plot for the pilot of his series Con was him posing as an American Idol contestant in order to convince the San Francisco Giants to let him sing the national anthem at a ballgame.

Stone tested for Saturday Night Live in 2005.^[1]

On January 3, 2007, Stone made his first national stand-up appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. In his act, Stone talked about the DMV, how people always confuse him for the "guy from Bill & Ted's that's not Keanu" and how much he hates this "texting craze". Stone pulled out his Vince Vaughn one and got a standing ovation.^[1]

Stone was cast in Christopher Guest's For Your Consideration^[7] after Guest saw the "Cancun Coma" episode of Con. He had Stone in for a meeting and was cast as a trashy radio morning show host. Coincidentally, Stone had started his career at a radio station in Kalamazoo, Michigan, called 107.7 WRKR The Rocker.

In 2007, Stone sold a pilot called Skyler's Revolution to Fox Broadcasting Company and Warner Bros. Television.^[8] It has been described as a reality version of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, wherein Stone and his band of pranksters find people who hate their lives and give them a life-altering adventure. It was executive-produced by Stone, Trip Taylor (Jackass, Wildboyz), and McG. It was not picked up for a series, but gained major notoriety, for in the pilot Stone actually called up California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on his direct dial in Sacramento pretending to be Michael Douglas. Stone's impression was good enough to convince the Governor that he was indeed Douglas for five minutes. In the pilot he also called Paula Abdul as Owen Wilson, and he called Harrison Ford as Vince Vaughn.

His first movie ever was Roger Avary's The Rules of Attraction. Skyler played a speed freak named Quinlivan in a scene that ended up cut from the film. The scene also had James Van Der Beek and Adam Brody.

Stone played a cook in the 2005 film Waiting... and plans to return for the upcoming sequel Still Waiting....^[9]

Skyler played Scarlett Johansson's husband in the flashback scenes for The Island (directed by Michael Bay).^[1]

Skyler is a regular at the Laugh Factory, The Improv, and The Comedy Store, all in Hollywood, California.^[1]^[10]

He resides in Los Feliz, California.^[1]

His biggest influences are Steve Martin, Steven Wright, Michael Mann, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and early Michael Keaton comedies.^[1]^{[citation needed]}

In July 2007 Stone was cast as the lead in the comedy No Place Like Home,^[11] starring as Danny DeVito's son. The plot has DeVito trying to enjoy his retirement, so he takes drastic measures to get his twentysomething, slacker sons (Stone and Ryan Hansen) to move out and fend for themselves. It is produced by Wayne Rice (Suicide Kings, Dude, Where's My Car?) and directed by Sam Harper (Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Just Married).

Skyler was also a contestant on Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck, and lost twice (the second time in the Tournament of Losers), as well as Dog Eat Dog.^[1]

Stone had a guest role on the CSI: NY episode "Youngblood".^[11]
