Sixten (street artist)

Sixten is a notable street artist operating out of Melbourne Australia. He originally comes from Sweden.

Sixten did his first stencil in 1994 on a skateboard deck, but it wasn't until 2000 that he started doing stencils on the streets. Sixten hopes to try to coax a reaction out of the viewer by his art, his messages range from blatant to subtle.
Sixten is one of the forces behind Stencil Revolution, one of the largest online sites devoted to street art. The book Stencil Graffiti Capital devotes a chapter to Sixten. Other books that display his works are Stencil Pirates by Josh McPhee, Conform by Saskia Folk and Schablone Berlin by Caroline Koebel & Kyle Schlesinger. Sixten is also featured in the film Rash, which documents the street art scene of Melbourne, Australia. The film received an award as Best Feature Documentary by The Film Critics Circle of Australia, 2005.
Sixten is credited as inspiration for the part of "Klottraren" (Swedish for vandal), in the Swedish opera Kurfursten. Klottraren uses the tag 6-10.
