Sierra Nevada Stadium

Sierra Nevada Stadium is a pending stadium in Reno, Nevada, that is currently in the planning stages. It will be primarily used for baseball and will be the home of a Pacific Coast League team in 2009. The ballpark will have a capacity of 10,000 people and open in 2009.
As of August 16, two sites are being considered for the stadium. One is near Reno's downtown casino district, at the northeast corner of 2nd and Evans Streets; the other is 3 miles east of downtown, in the parking lot of the Grand Sierra Resort[1]. On September 21, 2007, the Reno City Council voted unnanimously to approve construction of the ballpark at the downtown site, with a groundbreaking scheduled for New Years Day, 2008. The stadium is expected to be completed in time for the 2009 season.
Once completed, the stadium will host the franchise currently known as the Tucson Sidewinders.
