[edit] Peer review feedback

Hi, I noticed you have a request in at peer review which has not yet received any response besides the semi-automated script. Have you tried requesting a peer review from the volunteers list? Another idea is to review someone else's request (particularly one from the list of requests without responses), then ask that they look at your request. Hope these are helpful suggestions and help to get some feedback for your request soon, APR t 20:54, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review idea

Hi, I have made a proposal that no peer review request be archived without some response. To aid in this, there is a new list of PR requests at least one week old that have had no repsonses beyond a semi-automated peer review. This list is at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog.

There are just over 100 names on the PR volunteers page, so I figure if each of these volunteers reviewed just one or two PR requests without a response from the list each month, it would easily take care of the "no response" backlog (as there have been 2 or 3 such unanswered requests a day on average).

If you would be able to help out with a review or two a month from the "no responses" backlog list that would be great (and much appreciated). Please discuss questions, comments, or ideas at the PR talk page and thanks in advance for your help, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:10, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the support
Thanks for your support on my request for adminship. It passed 92/2/2, and I hope to live up to the community's expectations. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:11, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RL & RU combo infox

Back in January you helped me by adding a Title change qualifier to the State Rep section of the Rugby League part of the combined RL/RU infobox. The solution you may recall was if I notate "yes" in the line "sooteam pre-1980=yes" then the title for that section would say "State Rep" and if I notate "no" , then title will be "State of Origin". This qualifier now seems to no longer be effective. See Kevin Ryan or Ken Kearney. Could you have a look ? Much obliged -Sticks66 13:08, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peter Shaw (Australia)

Hi. Please will you review this article - I considered the claim of having played for Victoria sufficient to turn down a speedy, but as it's unreferenced, I've no idea if it's a hoax or he played for the second XV or something. The Rugby Union WikiProject seems pretty moribund judging by their talk page, so I approached you directly. Also, you might be interested in my recent post at WP:Village Pump (technical) re Barnstars, as you seem to be suffering too. --Dweller (talk) 12:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC) Bold text

[edit] Six Nations

Thanks for that. We also have a new box Template:Six nations new, which was made by User:Gareth_E_Kegg, so the old ones could probably be deleted now. I recently found that thw WRU have a really good archive on their site, with venues for all Welsh matches right back to 1883, so in time I am going to go back through and add all those too. Just need to find another union with good archives! I also need to add a summary line along the lines of X won the championship, with a grand slam or similar. I just hope the French wiki pages are correct, as I just took the scores etc from there! Nouse4aname (talk) 10:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sino-NZ relations

This is a serious question, are you blind!!! there was a notice on my user page that this article was under counstruction with explicit instructions not to be touched, so what gives you the right to come in and post it with out my consent?? This article was nowhere near ready and i am, well frankly, pissed off that you did this, and unless you can give me a good explaination of your actions i will be reporting this as vandalism. Taifarious1 07:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, since you moved my WIP page to the mainspace I lost the entire page that the article was in so I was wondering if you could possible get it back to the way it was before you moved the article please? thanks, Taifarious1 00:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 20 April 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Farah Palmer, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] 1995 Japanese Grand Prix

Hi Shudde. I notice you are down as a peer review volunteer under the everydaylife section, covering sports. I was wondering whether you could possibly peer review the 1995 Japanese Grand Prix article for me. The peer review is located here. Regards, D.M.N. (talk) 09:22, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nazionale di rugby XV della Nuova Zelanda

Hi. I think that All Blacks' page will go in "Vetrina", but now it.wiki section on rugby union is quite busy because there are two other voices (england and wales rugby union team) that are undergoing to "vaglio". Probably in few weeks also New Zealand team will be under "vaglio". Thank you for your message, bye --Tia solzago (talk) 16:01, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review request

Hello. I noticed that you have listed yourself as a peer review volunteer in the area of sports. I would like comments on an article I have recently put up for review, SummerSlam (1988). Any help is appreciated, so if you have some time, I'd appreciate your comments here. Thanks so much! If you are not interested in reviewing the article, please ignore this message. [edit] My RfA

Hi Shudde, I wanted to say thank you for supporting my request for adminship, which passed with 100 supports, 0 opposes and 1 neutral. I wanted to get round everybody individually, even though it's considered by some to be spam (which... I suppose it is! but anyway. :)). It means a lot to me that the community has placed its trust in my ability to use the extra buttons, and I only hope I can live up to its expectations. If you need anything, or notice something that bothers you, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks again, PeterSymonds | talk 23:01, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Many thanks Shudde

I just wanted to say "thank you" for the kind message you left me on my Talk Page.

It was interesting to see the old YouTube clip of the Barbarians Vs All Blacks game. I remember seeing that game live on TV at the time. It was that game that first got me interested in rugby. It was a great game at the time, how rugby has changed in the last 25 years...for the better, I think. I have to say that the haka in that match must have been the worst one I have ever seen...that wouldn't scare a flee!

Anyway, thanks again. I am very impressed by your list of Featured Articles.

[edit] Re AB's

I detailed that it was a training squad, a much more accurate squad than the WC squad from 2007. I noted that the Crusaders players were left in, you are more than welcome to remove them and put a note in stating that they are not included at this moment in time.Londo06 12:58, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I suppose that region/province issue would see me wanting all the players with their franchises and you with all their local clubs. I can totally understand the call. It looks like the page has been updated since your message anyway.Londo06 19:52, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Peer Review help

Thank you for you work as a peer review volunteer. Since March, there has been a concerted effort to make sure all peer review requests get some response. Requests that have gone three days or longer without a substantial response are listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog. I have three requests to help this continue.

1) If you are asked to do a peer review, please ask the person who made the request to also do a review, preferably of a request that has not yet had feedback. This is fairly simple, but helps. For example when I review requests on the backlog list, I close with Hope this helps. If my comments are useful, please consider peer reviewing an article, especially one at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog (which is how I found this article). Yours, ...

2) While there are several people who help with the backlog, lately I have been doing up to 3 or 4 peer reviews a day and can not keep this up much longer. We need help. Since there are now well over 100 names on the PR volunteers page, if each volunteer reviewed just one PR request without a response from the list each month, it would easily take care of the "no response" backlog. To help spread out the load, I suggest those willing pick a day of the month and do a review that day (for example, my first edit was on the 8th, so I could pick the 8th). Please pick a peer review request with no responses yet, if possible off the backlog list. If you want, leave a note on my talk page as to which day you picked and I will remind you each month.

3) I have made some proposals to add some limits to peer review requests at Wikipedia_talk:Peer_review#Proposed_limits. The idea is to prevent any one user from overly burdening the process. These seem fairly reasonable (one PR request per editor per day, only four total PR requests per editor at a time, PR requests with cleanup banners can be delisted (like GAN quick fail), and wait two weeks to relist a PR request after it is archived), but have gotten no feedback in one week. If you have any thoughts on these, please weigh in.

Thanks again for your help and in advance for any assistance with the backlog. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:19, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:OtagoHighlandersLogo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:OtagoHighlandersLogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
