Shivaraj Kumar (real name Putta Swamy) is the son of legendary Kannada matinée Dr.Rajkumar. Graduated in B.Sc, Shivaraj Kumar made his screen appearance in Singeetham Srinivas Rao’s 'Anand'. Shivanna's first three movies ‘Anand’, ‘Rathasapthami’ and ‘Mana Mechchida Hudugi’ in a row completed silver jubilee and earned him the title "Hatrick Hero - Shivraj Kumar".
He has completed 23 years in film industry and has given several hit movies. His films like 'Anand', 'Rathasapthami',‘Om’,‘Janumada Jodi’, ‘Nammura Mandara Hoove’, ‘AK 47’, ‘Preethse’, 'Jogi' proved successful at the box office.
Today with over 90 Kannada films to his credit, Shivrajkumar maintains the standards set by his father to some extent.Shivanna has won year 2005 Best Actor award for his film Chigurida Kanasu

Shivaraj Kumar aka SRK is the eldest son born on 12 July 1961 in Bangalore, in Karnataka, to Sri Rajkumar and Smt Parvatamma.He has two sisters and two brothers; his younger brother, Raghavendra Rajkumar is a film producer and a film actor, his youngest brother, Puneet Rajkumar is also a Kannada film actor.
After his graduation at Madras University,Shivaraj kumar,on the insistence of K.Balachander joined an acting school in Madras. Trained in Kuchupudi dance from Vempetti Chinni Sathyam in Madras during the college days, he was well versed in dancing made a grand entry into the KFI with Mega Hit "Anand".
Shivaraj Kumar married Geeta, the daughter of Former Chief minister of Karnataka S.Bangarappa. The couple have two children - two daughters.

"Shivanna" is the nick name of Shivaraj Kumar. Trained in Kuchipudi dance by Vempetti Chinna Sathyam in Chennai during his college days, he also has a flair for western dance.Shivanna is a soft-spoken star, is totally involved not only in his own role on the sets but also in that of others, believing that all actors in a film are part of a team. He has innumerable hardcore fans and many fan associations.
In 2008, Shivanna's Satya In Love opened to a massive opening and broke the KFI record for biggest opening gross. It also became the first kannada film for simultaneously opening in Goa,TN,AP,Delhi and Maharashtra.
