Shelly Jamison

Shelly Jamison (b.1962) is a former television news reporter from the Phoenix, Arizona area, who gained nationwide popularity as a Playboy magazine cover model, and the sideline reporter on the 1989 souped-up roller derby TV series RollerGames. Jamison majored in broadcast journalism at Arizona State University. She is the daughter of Arizona restaurant critic Elin Jeffords, and has a son, Jake, born April 1988. Her husband Ron is a Phoenix firefighter.
Jamison appeared clothed on the cover and nude inside the July 1989 issue of Playboy magazine. Her appearance earned her admiration among the magazine's readers in particular because of the extraordinary shape of her "carpenters' pencil eraser" nipples.
In the accompanying article, she predicted that she would most likely be fired from her job at KTSP-TV. She rationalized that her pay for the appearance (over US$100,000) was more than five years' pay at the station: she did leave her job at the station after the magazine appearance.
She was hired for RollerGames in May 1989, after producers David Sams and Michael Miller saw her picture in a USA Today story about the controversial Playboy appearance. As sideline reporter, Jamison interviewed the primary stars of the show such as:
- the late Ralphie Valladares,
- Georgia Hase, and
- the "T-Bird Twins" Jennifer & Kristine Van Galder.
Jamison disappeared from the public spotlight following the show's cancellation in 1990.
