Sheldon Independent School District is a public school district in unincorporated eastern Harris County, Texas (USA) which is part of Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area.

The district serves the communities of Sheldon, Beaumont Place, and Houmont Park.

Sheldon Independent School District consists of a high school, middle school, 6th grade campus, three elementary schools, and an early childhood center; a fourth elementary and a second middle school are in construction. All schools are located in unincorporated areas.

  • C. E. King High School (9-12) [1]

Named after Cortes Ewing King, a Houston developer who donated land to the district. Built 1965.

Named after Cortes Ewing King, a Houston developer who donated land to the district. Built 1954.

[edit] 6th Grade Campus

  • Sheldon 6th Grade Campus grade: 6. In 2008 the 6th grade will move to the middle school. This building will be renovated and will become Sheldon Elementary in 2009-2010 school year.

Named for a former administrator L.E. Monahan. Opened 1983.

Named for the subdivision. Royalwood Elementary opened in 1968.

Sheldon Elementary, originally built 1957; rebuilt in 2004. In the 2009-2010 school year, the campus will become an early childhood academy; the elementary campus will move to the present Sheldon 6th building which will undergo renovation during the 2008-09 school year.

  • H.M. Carroll Elementary School - grades: 1-5

Named for late board member. Under construction; scheduled to open in 2008.

Named for former superintendent. Opened 2004.

Students are required to conform to a standardized dress code.[1]
