Her Highness Sheikha Hala bent Daij Al Khalifa is the former wife of His Royal Highness Sheikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince of Bahrain and Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force. She is the mother of their four children. Her eldest son, Sheikh Issa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is second in line to the throne after his father.

As a campaigner for human rights, Sheikha Hala launched the "Be Free" campaign on the 19th of March 2002 to protect children against child abuse.[1]
