In 2002, the Stark Foundation began building a new Shangri La Botanical Garden on the original site. The new gardens will display the great diversity of plants found throughout the world. They will mirror Stark's Shangri-La in an area called the Garden of the Blue Moon.

Lake Shangri-La is a mid-sized lake in south-eastern Wisconsin (Kenosha County) which is connected to Bennet Lake and is populated by people of all economic status.

Shangri-La is also a roadside attraction located near Prospect Hill, North Carolina that resembles a miniature village made entirely of stone, brick, and other materials. ^[1]
