Shane Percy

Shane Percy is a Toronto based music journalist and part time DJ.
He is best known as the promoter and DJ of Grapefruit [[1]], a gay oriented dance night he began in 2002. Known for a strong focus on pop and retro 80's music, his events have featured performances by various performers including Jackie Beat, Fritz Helder & The Phantoms the Wet Spots and Gavin Bradley's White Punks On Dope.
Grapefruit has won several awards in local polls as a Toronto favourite, and has been featured in Fab Magazine, Xtra and Toronto Life. It is currently the city's longest running gay dance night and features award-winning Toronto performance artist Donnarama. Through Grapefruit and related events, Percy has orchestrated several fundraisers for Canadian organizations including Casey House and is an associate donor to the LesbianBiGayTrans YouthLine [[2]]
Percy is a music journalist for Toronto's Xtra where his interview credentials include Vince Clarke, Goldfrapp, Cyndi Lauper and DJ David Morales. In addition to maintaining a music blog [[3]], he has made occasional appearances on MuchMoreMusic's Listed and Uncovered pop culture TV programs.
