[edit] What's new
[edit] December 7, 2006
Got word the other day that Politiken newspaper's Jens Lenler had written an article "Verdens største leksikon- og største fejlrisiko?" (“World’s biggest encyclopedia– and biggest risk for error?”) in the Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 edition. Both myself and Valentinian were mentioned and cited in the article regarding a little Wikipedia encounter with the fictive Danish kommune Æblerød, a hoax which we uncovered and dealt with.

Almost a year has gone by since I have put in a daily entry. Haven't been Wiki'ing so much during this time. But I haven't been that far away. Last weekend was up in Stockholm to a sqaure dance, and stopped by the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts, where I saw a great exhibit of Nordic landscape art— A Mirror of Nature— and another exhibition of the designs of Stig Lindberg.

Haven't been Wiki'ing so much lately. Mostly caught up with a new work assignment doing requirements management/systems analysis for a project to implement EMV standard chip card terminals in local branches, and take advantage of additional security from encryption. Going to Göteborg for the weekend to square dance to Dave Wilson, Robert Milestad and Thomas Bernhed. Also a chance to see the P.S. and Marie Krøyer exhibit at the Göteborg Art Museum.
Now I know Christmas is coming! They just played Søren Banjomus on the radio as the first Christmas song of the season (Ya' jus' gotta be Danish to appreciate that!).

Great concert during the weekend with Gitte Henning and Wencke Myhre. Unfortunately Siw Malmquist was sick. Good shopping on Saturday at Karstadt. Great cocktails at the Tower Bar overlooking the Elbe River. And now I'm back again. Finished reading The Templar Revelation, so I'm back to finishing "Kærligheds Barn" by Maria Helleberg, a novel about the life of Princess Louise Augusta of Denmark. Received a request to look at the article on Jean De la Vallée.

Another weekend of travelling ahead. This time to Hamburg, Germany to see a concert— "The Show" with Gitte Henning, Wencke Myhre and Siw Malmquist, some of the great divas of Northern European schlager music. Well, what have I done in the wonderful world of Wiki? I organised the list of equestrian sculptures by country, added European art colonies to the list at that article, added some basic information requested (Birth and death years, external link, other information) on the Hugh J. Schonfield article, and been fighting juvenile vandalism on the Birkerød article. Otherwise I have been reading The Templar Revelation.

Great long weekend in Stockholm. Went to the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts, where I saw a great exhibit of Dutch Golden Age paintings. I also went to the City Museum of Stockholm in the Södermalm district where I was living near Slussen, just across from the old town of Gamla Stan. Good shopping as always as Nordiska Kompaniet and Åhléns. Then it was on to Skærholmen for a great square dance weekend with lots of good C1 dancing.

Danish municipalities project update: Am in phase 4 verification, running through from category list (one-by-one). Have reached and completed to Møn. Continue with Nakskov.
Had another episode with alternative future naming of municipalities that will be merged with others and expanded as a result. This was the second episode with the same user, and it has forced me to bring the discussion to the attention of others at Talk:Municipalities of Denmark (in addition to trying to negotiate direct with the user). I have also found some alternative wording for common text in the various municipality articles, where instead of referring to them as "new municipalities", I refer to them as "enlarged municipalities". I have alse created a new talk notice template to put on the talk pages of municipalities that will be enlarged: {{enlargeddanishmunic}} . Hopefully these efforts will discourage alternative naming.
Otherwise I am off to Stockholm tomorrow for a long weekend, to square dance at the Ericsson Jamboree with callers Vic Cedar, Todd Fellegy, Christer Bern, Jack Bergström, Roland Danielsson, and Michael Lindberg. Hopefully I can also get to the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts.

Going to Jutland for a couple of days, to visit the family on the old strawberry farm, and to attend a square dance in Aalborg. And I guess that's a fitting end to a week of Wiki'ing so much with the square dance articles:
- existing square dance articles: Modern Western square dance (new article name), Caller (dance), Square dance club, and Call
- new split-off articles: Square dance program (including a pretty table which I am very proud of) and Square dance concept
- redlinked a new article which my MWSD edit war-buddy User:Cananian was so nice to start: Challenge square dance
- new section stubs that require work: Dancing modern Western square dance (dancing opportunities, training at dances, fly-ins, conventions, etc.) and History of modern western square dance

Danish municipalities project update (at long last): Am in phase 4 verification, running through from category list (one-by-one). Have reached and completed to Lundtoft. Continue with Lyngby-Taarbæk.
Been distracted with other articles such as a series of articles on Copenhagen city districts, which still need to be expanded. Also some new articles on Danes in the art world (Kristian Zahrtmann, Holger Roed, Niels Lauritz Høyen), Danish architects (Christian Frederik Hansen, Lauritz de Thurah, Nicolai Eigtved) and some rewrites and just some plain writes on Danish palaces/castles (Christiansborg Castle, Hirschholm Palace). In addition to all the other fun things I do here, and there, and everywhere else.

As for the large Danish municipalities project: Reached as far as Vejle municipality (done!), and its future partners Børkop, Egtved, Give and Jelling municipalities.

Got back from the hospital Sept. 2, and convalescence is going well (well enough to be wikying). Haven't gotten back to the big Danish municipalities project yet, but focusing on smaller things instead, such as the square dance articles. Trying to achieve a concensus on naming and name variants in the Dosado article, as well as improving a few other new dance move articles: Right and Left Grand and Promenade (dance move). These should also be categorized under Category:Square dance.
As for the large Danish municipalities project: Reached as far as Vallø municipality, and its future partners whoever they might be.

As of August 31, 2005 I will be offline for a while as I will be undergoing a long awaited laser TURP operation. I should not be gone all that long, so don't make too much trouble for me while I am away.
