Sean Yseult (born June 6, 1966 in North Carolina as Shauna Reynolds) is an American rock musician. She has played various instruments with different bands over the years, most notably her bass work with the band White Zombie. Her father, Michael S. Reynolds, was a noted biographer of Ernest Hemingway. She married Supagroup musician Chris Lee on January 12, 2008, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She currently lives in New Orleans.
[edit] Music career
Sean played bass in the Groove Metal & Industrial Metal band White Zombie for 12 years before they disbanded in 1998. In 1996, she participated along with Jay Yuenger in the tribute band to The Germs called Ruined Eye. After the break up of White Zombie in September of 1998, Sean started playing bass for the band Rock City Morgue. She formed the Famous Monsters in 1995, a band also graced with the presence of Katie Lynn Campbell, current bassist for the Toronto based C'mon.
In September 2006 it was rumored Sean took over on bass for legendary punk rock band The Cramps for the Halloween tour (October/November), but has stated in a recent interview (posted on Sean Yseult: The Unofficial Fansite) that she is not the permanent bassist for the group. The photos on all of the Rock City Morgue sites as well as the Unofficial Sean Yseult Fansite show the wrong dates to the corresponding photos.
[edit] Fashion & Art Career
Before her days as a bassist, Sean pursued her degree in graphic design at both Parsons The New School for Design in New York and the North Carolina School of the Arts. Recently, Sean has begun a line of scarves featuring large geometric images with bold colors. They are available at boutiques nationwide, as well as online. Ms. Yseult has also recently joined artist Louis St.Lewis in forming the collaborative art duo of Lewis & Yseult and their mixed media pieces have been well received by critics. Recent shows include exhibitions in New Orleans, North Carolina and Paris as well as CBGB's 315 gallery in NYC to benefit the ailing nightclub. Sean has also been a member of The Rawk Show - Fine Art by Musicians, in Texas.
