Skippy was born November 1, 1975 in Memphis, Tennessee. After moving around a bit as a child, Skippy found himself in Nashville, Tennessee where he spent his teen years around friends in the music industry. It was during this time that he was asked to join the CCM band Code of Ethics.

Skippy joined the euro-pop band Code of Ethics as a teenager when the band signed with Forefront Records/EMI[1].. Having been influenced by both Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails, skippy found a home as the band could delve into the darker, introspective side yet maintain a pop-flavor appealing to the masses. As the keyboardist/guitarist and background vocalist, Skippy has shared three #1 CHR singles and two Gospel Music Award nominations with the band. [2].
Code of Ethics toured constantly promoting their albums both here in the US and abroad. They made several television show appearances, and their music has been on various networks incluing ESPN and MTV. The band has also appeared in several television news programs such as ABC Nightly News and publications such as the Washington Post covering their shows, records, and their involvements in the "True Love Waits", and the "Left Behind" campaigns.[3].
Throughout his career, has held endorsements with various companies such as KORG keyboards, and most recently with Gibson guitars and Dean Markley strings.[4]
[edit] Life after Code of Ethics
Since the dissolution of Code of Ethics, skippy has worked on various projects involving film and television in the US and abroad. Skippy has most recently started working with Michael Tait (of dc talk fame) and Ben Moody (of Evanescence fame) for Tait's upcoming solo record and a song for Celine Dion.[5]
Skippy can be seen in the Brooks and Dunn video, "Proud of the House We Built" .
Skippy is also starring in a forth-coming reality television show from Picture Vision Productions (Nashville Star) alongside fellow musicians such as Will McGinnis from Audio Adrenaline, and Justin Glasco from Mat Kearney just to name a few. The television show will also work in conjunction with charities with which Skippy has been involved.

Skippy is actively involved with charities such as the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, the (RED) campaign, and ONE Campaign. He currently serves on the Young Professionals board at the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation[6].
