[edit] History

Schaumburg High School opened in 1970. It is accredited by the North Central Association and has earned full recognition status by the State Superintendent of Schools in the State of Illinois.

Currently, as well as for the next couple of years, Schaumburg High School is undergoing a massive reconstruction product in which thirteen new classrooms, a new grand foyer, bus port, administration center, three new science labs, and handicap accessibility will be added to the high school. This is a part of the larger District 211 construction projects on Conant, Hoffman Estates, and Schaumburg High Schools.

[edit] Academics

In 2006, Schaumburg had an average composite ACT score of 22.4, and graduated 96% of its senior class.[citation needed] Schaumburg has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Praire State Achievement Exam, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]

For the past twelve years, Schaumburg High School has been named one of America's Best High Schools by Globe Magazines, placing it in the top 85% of high schools in the nation, an honor only three of the five District 211 high schools received.

The United States Department of Education has recognized Schaumburg High School as a Well performing high school.[2]
