[edit] Plot
When a Marine Colonel is killed by an explosion on a military only golf course, Gibbs and his team set out to investigate. He is not too happy to be assisted by Army Lt. Col. Hollis Mann, who forces him to share jurisdiction on this case but he is unable to stop her. He reluctantly agrees to work with her, as it turns out she is more than a match for Gibbs, being comparable in stubbornness and character.
The CIA is able to give the team a lead to an abandoned warehouse but it turns out the place is rigged with explosives. Ziva decides that they can't wait for the disposal team and manages to disarm the bomb herself, preventing the clues in the warehouse from being destroyed. The CIA refuses to tell the team who their tip giver was, so McGee traces him to a convenience store run by a Mamoun Sharif. He helps the team and gives them a video tape of the alleged terrorist who he claims talked about the explosion in his store.
Later it turns out that Sharif was the bad guy all along and the team is informed that a homeless guy was given a backpack by Sharif, not knowing it was a bomb and was asked to meet him at a promenade. Gibbs and his team reach him in time, where Gibbs dresses as a civilian not to catch Sharif or the homeless guy's attention and Ziva is able to disable the bomb before it explodes. Sharif on the other hand, who was watching from the crowd, manages to escape (he makes his next appearance in Sharif Returns).
Meanwhile the dead Colonel's son takes his father's death in a terrorist attack very hard and decides to drop out of college to join the Marines. Tony, who tries to bond with him, convinces him to finish college after all, stating that with his college education he can help the cause much better.
