San Felipe, Guanajuato

San Felipe is a Mexican city (and municipality) located in the Northwest region of the state of Guanajuato. The municipality has an area of 2,969.79 square kilometres (9.50% of the surface of the state), making it the biggest municipality in terms of size. It is bordered to the north by San Luis Potosí, to the east by San Diego de la Unión and Dolores Hidalgo, to the south by Guanajuato, to the southeast by León, and to the northwest by Ocampo. The municipality had 95,359 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. [1] [2], of those 26,612 live in the city of San Felipe.
The municipal president of San Felipe Torres Mochas and its 489 outlying communities is Alfonso Moreno Morán. [3]
The economy of the municipality is based mostly on the textile industry. [4]
