Sameer Samuel Bhattacharya born August 31, 1984 is one of the two guitarists in the rock band Flyleaf. He is of Bengali descent[citation needed], and is of Christian faith.

Sameer also attended Holland Texas High School, where he also graduated from there. He played in the high school band on the drums, and even after he graduated came back on different occasions in aid for the current students in the high school band and also for visits.
[edit] Flyleaf
After his local Belton, Texas band disbanded in 2000, he was recruited into the band Flyleaf by drummer James Culpepper. They played at many gigs, gradually building a fan base. Their music spread throughout Texas and beyond, and finally, they were signed. They released their full-length debut in 2005
[edit] Christian Faith
Sameer, along with the other members of Flyleaf, is Christian. In fact, the entire band are of the Christian faith.[1] This faith influences their music, but lead singer Lacey Mosley doesn't necessarily believe that makes Flyleaf a strictly Christian band. "We all share the same faith. And so when we deal with the whole 'Christian band thing,' we kind of think about something P.O.D. says, like, 'If you're a Christian, it affects everything in your life. So if you're a plumber, does that make you a Christian plumber?' " Mosley said. "I don't know the answer. We're a band, it's part of who we are, so it comes out in our music, and it's the fuel for what we do. And finding faith saved my life. So I'm not ashamed of it at all. And most of our album reflects that."[2]
