I agree this article needs work (though I think it's more the accuracy of the article rather than its neutrality that is at issue). Can you perhaps list particular objections on the talk page? - I don't think that article needs an NPOV note, and I'm a native Irishman, living in Ireland... Might be an idea to use the talk page before doing something contraversial like NPOV headering it. Kiand 20:20, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Excuse me, I know this is old, but you seem to be the originator of the topic Munich Business School, and I have encountered it on the Red Link Recovery WikiProject. Munich Business School links to Erasmus Programme - Red Link Recovery suggests Erasmus programme. I don't know if this is correct, but either way this sentence seems to need rephrasing: "As part of the [[programme]] student must spend one [[Erasmus Programme|semester]] in a foreign country".
You can help Red Link Recovery WikiProject by correcting this and\or crossing the entry out of the appropriate page. I would do it myself, but I don't know anything about the subject. Wiggin15 06:45, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

Hello, you are the original editor of the ADO (Südtirol) article. While working on Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links I came accross a link to Vatican in that article that does not disambiguate in an obvious way. I was wondering if you coudl clarify the article. There is a discussion between User:Veledan and my self about this HERE. Basically we are wondering if the "protection of the vatican" mentioned here refers to specific memebers of the hurch or the local curch or to the Holy See itself? You've stated that Andorra is not a nation, and therefore, Catalan in not an international language. But the word 'international' means 'in many independent countries' and Andorra and Spain are independent and, therefore, Catalan is international. Best regards, User talk:Marco_Neves
Hello! I'm a post-graduate student of linguists and I can assure you Catalan is not a dialect of Spanish. During evolution from Latin to Modern Languages, Catalan was the first of Iberian languages to become separated. Portuguese and Spanish are much more related than Catalan and Spanish (despite strong influences of Spanish unto Catalan). Genetically, Catalan belongs to Gallo-Romanic languages (one example: peur/por - Gallo-Romanic ; medo/miedo - Portuguese/Spanish). It is wrong to call Catalan a dialect. In fact, the language has many different dialects of its own. Moreover, people can be bilingual in Spanish/Catalan (as most Catalans are). I can agree that Catalan is not international and can be called a regional language, but that it is a language is beyond doubt in linguistic terms (and it is internationally recognised as a language, taught in universities throughout the world). I really thought that this was a closed question, even in Spain. Outside Spain, anyone interested in linguistics knows these facts.
For instances, the following sentences show the linguistic relations between languages in a very straighforward way:
- French: Je veux parler avec mon cousin. (Gallo-romance)
- Catalan: Vull parlar amb el meu cosí. (Gallo-romance with Iberian influences)
- Spanish: Quiero hablar con mi primo. (Iberian Romance)
- Portuguese: Quero falar com o meu primo. (Iberian Romance)
(There are, of course, many other sentences that seem to show that Catalan and Spanish are more closely related than they really are. That is because they are both Latin languages and have mutual influences. Any serious criterion used in linguistics studies - even if you bear in mind that the concepts of "dialect" and "language" are more hard to distinguish than most people think - shows that Catalan and Spanish are distinct languages.)

P.S. Another thing: if you read Andorran Constitution and laws, you will see that Catalan is the only official language of Andorra. Spanish and French are used, but not official.
Reading your answer in my personal page, I guess you think I'm Catalan. But I have nothing to do with Catalonia. I'm a impartial language especialist and you have just run away from answering scientific arguments regarding Catalan status as a language. The fact that Spaniards understand Catalan (which is not true in many cases), the whole of Norway's population understand Danish and that doesn't make Danish a dialect of Norwegian of vice-versa. When studying Spain's languages, I'm used to having people from all sides (including Catalans, Basques and others) use political arguments when only linguistic arguments are really adequate. Please, note: Catalan developed before and separately from Spanish, so it's not a question if it is a language or not. Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, etc. all form a group (Latin languages); but they are separate. Best regards, Marco Neves
P.S. Being an English speaker, you are not used to how close Latin languages are, but they have strong connections and still be separate, as is the case in Iberian Peninsula. But, even so, regarding all Iberian Latin languages, Catalan is the most peculiar and separate, being part of Gallo-Romanic languages. If you consider Catalan a dialect, Portuguese is also a dialect, which is obvious wrong. Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan are the three main Iberic languages, developed independently from Romance general language (in Early Middle Ages). (The case is different from Ulster-Scots, for instances, since that dialect sprang from English, which is not the case of Catalan, which began developing before Spanish.)

Hi, this is a circular to Wikipedians in Ireland to draw your attention to Wikimedia UK, where the establishment of a local Wikimedia chapter for the United Kingdom (and possibly for the Republic of Ireland) is being discussed. See the talk page, as well as the mailing list; a meetup will take place to discuss matters in London in September, for anyone who can get there. On another topic, plans are being drawn up for a UK bid for Wikimania 2006, which would be conveniently close to Ireland. On the other hand, Dublin's bid was one of the final three last year - might we bid again? --Kwekubo 19:33, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Hey Saluedo. I note that you either went to or are going to DCU. I'm almost certainly going to put DCU down as the no.1 on my CAO form this year and was wondering could you tell me one or two things?
- At the open day I was under the impression that the Larkfield Apartments are more for first years, whereas the Hampstead Apartments are for 2nd/3rd/4th years. Is this true? Or is it more of a mix?
- What did you study there? What did you think of the whole thing? Any regrets or gripes? You know how much marketing goes on on the open day and i'm sure lots was hidden from our view! So any info is appreciated!

Hi,
I read in Slanguage: A Dictionary of Irish Slang, by Bernard Share, (2003) page 76, that it was a "Derog. term for countryman/woman as perceived by city-dweller, esp. Dub." I'm not from anywhere near Ireland, but it does appear to be used outside of Dublin at times. Someone else is apparently the original author of the "List of ethnic slurs" definition here at Wikipedia, though.
