The 6 metre class was one of four 'metre' classes featured on the Sailing at the 1908 Summer Olympics programme. Competition was carried out over three races. Dormy won the first two of the three, while Zut took top honours in the third.

Points system: For every race the points were awarded: 3 points to the winner, 2 points for runner up, 1 point for third place. Lower placed boats did not award points.
