Saddam (Arabic صدام) is an Arabic name, literally means "Someone who frequently Causes Collisions" or "powerful collider"[citation needed] Other meanings are "Someone who frequently Confronts", "Someone Who Causes A Collision That Had Bad Results", "powerful confronter" or "Someone who frequently Crashes."[citation needed] It could also mean "powerful commander." [1]The best known bearer of the name was Saddam Hussein (1937-2006), former state president and prime minister of Iraq.
